Day 1

Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding

The day will begin with a scenic mountain flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, considered one of the most spectacular flights in the world. After landing at the airstrip in Lukla, you will meet the rest of the trekking team and begin your first day of the trek. The first day of the trek will be a gentle descent through picturesque Sherpa villages, forests of pine, and suspension bridges over the Dudh Kosi River. Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar

The most exciting part of the trek is scheduled for today. The route today follows the Dudh Kosi River and passes over several suspension bridges before entering Sagarmatha National Park. After crossing the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge, the route starts climbing through the forests towards the main trading center of the Everest region, the picturesque Sherpa village of Namche Bazaar. Namche is the main trading center of the Everest region and is surrounded by breathtaking scenery. On a clear day, the first glimpse of the mighty Mount Everest is said to be visible from the route today.

Namche Bazaar – Acclimatization Trek to Everest View Hotel

Acclimatization is an important component of an Everest Base Camp trek. Thus, on the fifth day, you will not take a rest day but rather go on an easy hike to the Everest View Hotel. This is one of the highest luxury lodges in the world. From the hotel, you will enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, and other mountain peaks in the region. Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,870 m / 12,850 ft)

After breakfast, the trek begins by passing through rhododendron, pine, and other species of trees. You will pass by small villages of the Sherpas. As you get closer to your destination, you will find mani walls. This is the spiritual heartland of the region. You will find the famous Tengboche Monastery. This monastery is known for its peaceful atmosphere and breathtaking views of Ama Dablam, Nuptsé, and Lhotse. This is an experience into the spirituality of the region.

The climb is not too difficult, and you are rewarded with spectacular views of the majestic peaks of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and others. Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,930 m / 16,180 ft)

Today’s journey takes you via moraine tracks on the Khumbu Glacier. The climb to Lobuche continues steadily. The trail today offers a glimpse of the first views of the high Himalayas. Along the way, you can see memorials of climbers who have lost their lives on Everest. Lobuche is a small town with a number of stone houses and tea shops. Day 10

Trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep and Everest Base Camp Visit (5,364 m / 17,590 ft)

Today is the most awaited day of the entire trek. The trail begins from Lobuche to Gorakshep and then to Everest Base Camp. The views today include the Khumbu Glacier and the rugged high Himalayas. The feeling of reaching base camp is quite surreal. You can get a glimpse of where many Everest climbers start their expedition. After spending some time at base camp, you return to Gorakshep for the night. This stopover is important to rest before you climb to Kala Patthar at an early hour.

Early Morning Hike to Kala Patthar (5,555 m) and Trek to Pheriche (4,250 m)

The day begins with a pre-dawn hike to Kala Patthar, one of the best spots to take in a panoramic view of the sunrise over Everest, Lhotse, and Nuptsé. After clicking away at these photographic opportunities, you’ll descend to Gorakshep to have breakfast and then continue your trek back to Pheriche. Trek from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar

On this final day of your high-altitude adventure, you’ll descend down the upper Khumbu valley, passing through Dingboche and Tengboche once again, to arrive at Namche Bazaar. The return journey allows you to reflect on the accomplishments of your high-altitude adventure and to relish the views of the Himalayas from a new perspective. Descent from Namche Bazaar to Lukla

The route takes you through the beautiful Sagarmatha National Park once again, descending further into the valley. Along the way, you cross over suspension bridges, rivers, and villages, retracing the route that you took when ascending. Upon reaching Lukla, you feel an overwhelming feeling of accomplishment and happiness, having completed the trek from the starting point of your high-altitude adventure. Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu

A flight from Lukla takes you back to Kathmandu the next day, offering spectacular views of the Himalayas from the air. Upon landing, you are dropped off at your hotel. The day is at leisure for you to spend time in the beautiful city of Kathmandu, perhaps reminiscing about your adventure on the Everest Base Camp Trek. Overnight at Kathmandu.
